My background combines hands-on marketing with academic research. I earned an MBA from Arizona State University and a PhD in marketing from the University of Oregon, where I focused on statistics and consumer behavior. I later taught marketing at Illinois State University and studied the quality of evidence in marketing research.

I like building useful things. I created Bare Bones SEO, a free WordPress plugin that keeps SEO settings simple, and Flagpreneur, a guide to local business events and resources.

My wife, Mandy, is also an entrepreneur. She owns QuilTak, the quilt basting system that got its start here in Flagstaff.
